Oh look how far behind I was. Even an old nanny can beat me man. Try it out yourself.

A mother cries out as soldiers carry the body of her child from the rubble of a collapsed school in China. (via CNN)Couldn’t help but be crumbled by this photograph. There are probably thousands more of these scenes going on in Sichuan now. My heart goes out to you, China. Excuse me while I grab more tissues.

I don’t mind a little suspense in life.

I know some people have a habit of turning the pages forward to read the ending of a novel before they have even begun reading the first page. I just don’t get these people. Like why, why would anyone want to do that??

I’m the type who prefers to shut my ears off whenever someone tries to feed in spoilers to a particular TV show, or a movie or whatever. No, you may not try this now that you know it irritates the hell out of me. (I warn you!)

Watch the video/short film and you’ll understand why it’s so important to just carpe diem.

Original usage of carpe diem (seize the day) from Odes 1.11:

Leuconoe, don’t ask — it’s dangerous to know — what end the gods will give me or you. Don’t play with Babylonian fortune-telling either. Better just deal with whatever comes your way. Whether you’ll see several more winters or whether the last one Jupiter gives you is the one even now pelting the rocks on the shore with the waves of the Tyrrhenian sea — be smart, drink your wine. Scale back your long hopes to a short period. While we speak, time is envious and is running away from us. Seize the day, trusting little in the future.
